Who is CCW's crazy dog lady?

Hiya I am Meg! I'm a fun-loving animal enthusiast originally from Surrey. While studying BSc Psychology at University I became fascinated with animal behaviour and completed my dissertation on dog breed differences in play. With the support of my tutor, I spent much of my time assisting rescues during the XL Bully crisis as a transporter and re-homer. My experiences introduced practical application to textbook study, solidifying my passion to improve the welfare of our furry friends.

I believe new experiences with people, dogs and places helps to boost our dogs' confidence, making them more well-rounded and calmer at home. With this approach we often explore new beaches and forests within Torbay,  we play scent-driven games and splash about in the sea. The most rewarding part of my day is looking behind me in the van and seeing sleepy dogs content with their day out :)

Since graduation I have devoted my time to volunteering in various pounds and dog rehoming centres along the South Coast. I pretty much live, breathe and think DOG so starting a dog care business was more or less inevitable. I specialise in care for misunderstood breeds, such as mastiffs, bull breeds and shepherds, however all dogs are welcome to join our crew! I welcome XL bullies with open arms after (finally) finding insurance to cover our walks.  I prioritise in staying up-to-date on  behavioural research and use my experiences to better the structure of my business. I often take part in canine behaviour courses via IMDT, my most recent completion being in canine adolescence which has proved very useful in managing puppy socialisation within group walks. I am also a registered professional with the Modern Dog Walking Association (MDWA).  I also specialise in managing adult dog fear reactivity; when appropriate I will help with teaching emotional regulation, building a reliable, supportive relationship (with myself), using positive reinforcement to manage fear and overall build confidence in 'triggering' situations. I am proud to say some of my Solo clients have joined the Group walks with this approach!

My pet sitting services have become more localised (to the Torquay area) in order to fulfil my dog walking commitments throughout the day. My Solo and Group walks run Monday to Friday every week.
